Job Title: Assistant to Chair of Private Equity
Location: New York, NY
Salary: $250,000 – $300,000 per annum (DOE)

Overview
We are recruiting a senior-level Assistant to support the Chair of the Private Equity group at one of the world’s leading law firms. This is a high-impact, high-trust role supporting a key leadership figure within the firm—requiring total discretion, exceptional coordination, and a strong understanding of complex stakeholder environments.
You will act as a strategic partner and gatekeeper, managing critical communications, cross-unit coordination, and ensuring seamless connectivity between the Chair, the Executive Committee, and global clients.
Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of coordination for the Chair’s internal and external affairs

Manage a dynamic calendar of global client engagements, board meetings, and firm-wide leadership activities

Prepare agendas, board packs, and briefing materials for senior meetings

Liaise with ExCo members, practice group leaders, and client teams to drive execution

Track follow-ups, priorities, and key deliverables across the Chair’s portfolio

Handle sensitive information and client interactions with impeccable discretion and professionalism
Ideal Candidate

10+ years’ experience supporting senior legal, financial, or professional services leadership

Experience within a top law firm or private equity/financial services environment is strongly preferred

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Able to work at pace and navigate high-pressure, high-stakes environments

Politically astute, highly discreet, and naturally collaborative
